Actions

Actors, directors, playwrights, musicians, choreographers and other theatre people will present their proposals or exemplary readings and exchange ideas with young actors and researchers.



Performances

The participants of the program will be accredited by Panteion University and will make proposals about ancient drama productions. The proposals chosen will be performed at Central Greece ancient theatres and at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

International Program: The Ancient Drama Today

Panteion Centre for Classical Drama and Spectacle (KEDRA) and Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (MCF), along with the Municipality of Thiva and with the support of the Regional Government of Central Greece, are joining their forces to create the international educational and artistic program “The Ancient Drama Today”, with professor Yangos Andreadis as the scientific and artistic director from KEDRA, and author and theatre critic Heracles Logothetis in charge on behalf of the MCF.

The seminars/workshops of the program will be conducted by, among others, Dimos Avdeliodis, Yangos Andreadis, Katia Gerou, Vasiliki Karakosta, Kyriakos Katzoyrakis, Fanis Kafousias, Stephanos Kyriakidis, Herakles Logothetis, Parthenopi Bouzouri, Stavros Bonatsos, Angela Brouskou, Thanasis Papageorgiou, Kerasia Samara, Kostas Haritatos, Dimitra Hatoupi.

The Intention of the Program


The Ancient Drama Today

Panteion Centre for Classical Drama and Spectacle (KEDRA) and Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (MCF), in association and with the support of the Regional Government of Central Greece, are offering a pilot program on Ancient Greek Drama, and its importance on the formation of modern education and society. By joining their forces on the program, they intend to contribute to the academic training, the practical exercise and the artistic expression of the participants.
The program is primarily directed to friends of the arts, educators of all degrees, middle school and university students and amateur and professional theatrical groups from Central Greece and Athens, and its main intention is to accent the social dynamics of the entire area, with the involvement of local municipalities and Arts and Letters Associations.
